I think I’ve found Alpha Geek. He’s one of the Unix sysadmins where I work. He hacks. He tinkers. He solves problems I can’t fathom. He does things like write Linux drivers for his cable modem so he can surf the Web at broadband speeds using Konqueror. Or develop a heap dump tool in a weekend to help us diagnose memory issues in our JVM. This time he’s outdone himself, however. For Father’s Day, he received an iPod Nano. So far, he’s loaded three different operating systems on it.

And no music.
