I Should Have Brought My Mac

My work-issued laptop is a Dell Latitude D610 with a 2.1 GHz Pentium M processor, 2 GB RAM, and a 60 GB hard drive. It runs Windows XP Professional. It’s a nice machine. When I want to connect to a wireless network, however, which I do often throughout the day (including at night in my hotel room), I must do the following:
- Open Services and start Wireless Zero Configuration
- Right-click the Wireless Connection icon in the system tray and select View Available Wireless Networks
- In the ensuing dialog, under Related Tasks, click Change advanced settings
- In the next dialog, click the Wireless Networks tab
- Click the checkbox beside Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings
- Click OK
- Right-click the Wireless Connection icon in the system tray again and select View Available Wireless Networks
- Select the network I want to log in to and click OK
Why is this so hard?
